The Forster Adventure Race course offers something for everyone!
Ocean swimming in the crystal clear waters off Pacific Palms; cross country running around rugged escarpments and forests, with a paddle board leg across Smiths Lake; mountain biking through the Wallingat National Park with a sweet mix of rolling trails, creek crossings and single track; paddling on the pristine Wallis Lake, around islands and past our famous oyster leases; and finally a run across the renowned bridge between Forster & Tuncurry to finish on Main beach in front of hundreds of cheering spectators.

1.5km Ocean Swim
In the crystal clear waters off Pacific Palms competitors will swim from Shelly Beach to Elizabeth Beach.
Shelly Beach is a clothing optional beach – this might make the swim even faster!

18km Cross Country Run
Heading out from Elizabeth Beach competitors will hug the coastline running along Boomerang and Blueys Beach before climbing up to the top of Yarric Mountain. From here they will head down to Smiths Lake, skirt the edge until De Bert Reserve where surfboards will be waiting for a quick paddle across to Simons Point. After the paddle, it is up into the forest of the Myall Lake National Park before one final climb up into Bungwahl.

29km Mountain Bike Ride
This is a fast, undulating ride through the Wallingat National Park. Twists and turns will take competitors along open trails, through Palm forests and across Sugar Creek. After the creek some gnarly single track awaits with some challenging ruts for good measure. The final part of the ride will cruise through the township of Coomba to finish on the edge of Wallis Lake.

16km Lake Paddle
Wallis Lake is rated the cleanest lake in the State. As competitors tackle this leg they will see why. The 2013 course will take competitors on an better marked paddle leg, winding out and around Regatta and Cockatoo Island’s before heading through ‘Hells Gate’ and up Breckenridge Channel before crossing the lake mouth to finish in Tuncurry.

2.5km Run
The final leg takes competitors from the Tuncurry boat ramp across the famous bridge between the twin towns, along the Forster break wall and Main Beach towards the finish chute. A final 500m sand run is thrown in for good measure. Greeting you will be crowds, spectators, support crews and 500+ screaming kids from the Junior Spirit event on the same day.
After all this you or your team would have finished the 2013 Forster Adventure Race and earned a rest. Being a Saturday you can spend the night celebrating your finish and swapping stories from the course at one the fantastic local restaurants.
